Mariane at Heartland Theatre, Sep 2021 – Oct 2021

I was cast in the role of the classic ingenue Mariane in Heartland Theatre Company's production of Moliere's "Tartuffe: The Imposter", directed by Don LaCasse.

Banned by the Church after its first performance, Moliere’s comic masterpiece is about a pseudo-Christian con-man who worms his way into the affections of the very wealthy Orgon. Despite the warnings of Orgon’s wife and maid, he blindly opens his home, his heart and his finances to the sanctimonious scoundrel. Employing extreme piety and hypocrisy, Tartuffe appears to be unstoppable until a series of uproarious events saves the day.

My character, Mariane, is beautiful & young, desperately in love with her fiancé Valere, & finds her world suddenly shattered when she's forced to wed Tartuffe. With the help of her betrothed, & her loyal maid, she finds herself adopting strong measures to try to convince her father otherwise. She is courageous yet exceedingly tender, & will do whatever it takes to protect her heart.

This show runs September 16,17,18 / 23,24,25,26 / 30 & October 1,2 – 2021
