Hello friends!

Let's catch up. This movie on Netflix follows seven protestors of the Vietnam war, as they were tried for supposedly inciting a riot during the Democratic convention in Chicago. The movie is shocking, humorous, & the protests are almost a mirror image of what we saw in 2020. It won a golden globe for best screenplay, & is well deserving of that award.

The dialogue in this was straightforward & serious, but mixed with outrageous humor that was accurate to certain characters who were tried. The seven individuals all had distinct personalities that all played differently to the court room. And the judge that presided made calls & statements that did not seem utterly believable, but yet were supposedly very close to what historically happened.

The scenes flashed between courtroom hearings, late night gatherings to discuss the trial, a stand up performance by one of the seven, & snippets of the actual protest. The information was divided up in such a way so that the full truth was not revealed until the end.

The movie had an incredibly powerful ending, & shared final facts about this case, the people, & what happened afterward. It was a bit hard to understand every detail in the first viewing, but it's good enough to watch a second time.

If you have any good show recommendations for me, or just general comments or suggestions, please send them my way! I truly love & appreciate all feedback.

Slainté!

Kathleen 💛
