Let's Watch: The Dig

Hello friends!

Let's catch up. This show is based on historical events that take place right as WWII is about to start. In Britain, a woman hires a local excavator to dig up the mounds on her property. What they discover turns out to be legendary history.

This movie is slower paced, but with little nuances that really add strong details to the characters' lives & showcase who these people were. The main character is steadfast in her determination to find out what treasures lie beneath the mounds on her property. The local excavator hired by her first agrees to help for the pay, but later does it for his own love of discovering & preserving history. & soon, as they discover the true nature of their findings, more characters pile in to help.

Probably the best part of the film was the monologue said right at the end by the lady's son. His perspective on the world & of other human beings was breathtaking & incredibly moving. All in all, it was a good film to watch, but unfortunately not one of my favorites.
