Hello friends!
Let's catch up. This movie is bizarre, thrilling, & most importantly, done by my favorite movie director, Bong Joon Ho (he also did Parasite). This is set in a post-apocalyptic world that's entirely frozen over. The last remains of humanity are trapped on a train going in an endless loop around the world. The train takes exactly 365 days to complete one loop, & has been traveling for 17 years now.
The lowest class are stuck in the tail of the train, & there our hero/anti-hero Curtis forms a plan with a few others to lead a rebellion to take the front of the train. At the front is the train's designer, Wilford, who controls the engine (& therefore controls their world). We follow the rebellion as it journeys from train car to train car, meeting all sorts of characters & experiencing a vast array of different environments.
I've watched this movie a few times now, & every time I rewatch, the more I like it, & the more I discover little details that I hadn't realized before. The director is a genius when it comes to thrillers/suspense, & even though I know how it turns out, I still find myself flinching & feeling emotion after emotion as I watch the characters trek through the adventure of their lives.
If you have any good show recommendations for me, or just general comments or suggestions, please send them my way! I truly love & appreciate all feedback.
Slainté!
Kathleen 💛
