Hello friends!

Let's catch up. When this show was released on Netflix, everyone was buzzing about it, specifically because of the casting of the lead role, Assane Diop/Lupin. It is rare to find diversity when it comes to leading men or women, & the choice to cast Omar was a phenomenal decision.

This is a French series in 5 parts, & I have to say it is easy to binge. The character of Lupin is a cross between Sherlock Holmes & James Bond. He has charisma, style, & is always one step ahead of the rest of us. No matter who he's with, he's always on some exciting & mysterious adventure. The storyline includes so many puzzles & details, it's very much like a magician performing magic tricks & then slowly revealing how he did it.

I also have to point out that there are quite a few direct nods to theatre, from him changing his demeanor depending on who he's with, or his getting into stage makeup, or even changing clothes. Omar does an incredible job of showcasing his full range within these 5 episodes.

I personally chose to watch it in French with English subtitles, specifically because I wanted to hear the true inflections & tones the actors used when speaking. Despite the language barrier, I found it very enjoyable to listen to & easy to follow.

And of course, no good series would be complete without a cliffhanger at the end. Luckily, it's already been announced that the next 5 parts will be released sometime later this year. I definitely recommend checking out this show; it is a high quality series & well deserving of the accolades it's been given.

If you have any good show recommendations for me, or just general comments or suggestions, please send them my way! I truly love & appreciate all feedback.

Slainté!

Kathleen 💛
