Hello friends!
Let's catch up. I've heard of Eat, Pray, Love, but never read the book. I remember watching the movie years ago, but my knowledge of it is fuzzy. Nevertheless, I did recognize Elizabeth Gilbert's name when I saw this in the bookstore, & it made me very curious about this.
Big Magic focuses on creativity, & ways to better harness it. Elizabeth explains how she's incorporated certain techniques or ways of thinking into her own life, & what that's meant for her creativity as a writer. She firmly believes we all can be creative, we just need to practice at it.
While I was initially very skeptical of this, within the first few chapters I was completely sold. The way Elizabeth expresses herself & her ideas of what creativity means or shows up as was something I very much resonated with. This book can be a little hippie dippie at times, but for me, it reawakened my own love of writing, of theatre, & of being an artist in every way. It also put the fear of God in me if I put away my writing for too long.
This book is great for teachers, writers, artists of all kinds, & really anyone who wants to express themselves in a new & more vibrant way. It is a book I'll be re-reading again in the future.
If you have any good book recommendations for me, or just general comments or suggestions, please send them my way! I truly love & appreciate all feedback.
Slainté!
Kathleen 💛
